As Liberal Democrats we are continuing to prioritise community action to help those affected by coronavirus.
There are currently several local and national ways to volunteer.
NHS Volunteer Responders
NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to support the NHS during the COVID-19 outbreak. To do this we need an 'army' of volunteers who can support the 1.5m people in England who are at most risk from the virus to stay well. Our doctors, nurses and other professionals will be able to refer people in to NHS Volunteer Responders and be confident that they have been matched with a reliable, named volunteer. Read more.
Carers' Recruitment - WSCC
West Sussex County Council is undertaking a Carers’ recruitment drive to help support the Care industry during the COVID-19 emergency and onwards, suggesting that many workers currently furloughed or out of work will have transferrable skills. Horsham District Council: Community support
Horsham District Council are aware of the increased need to support vulnerable people across our communities, and the enormous response from people wanting to help in any way they can. The Council are putting in place ways in which we can best support communities to ensure that the most vulnerable are kept safe and well during the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Read more.
Lib Dems in the community
The President of the Liberal Democrats, Mark Pack, is running a party wide calling drive. Using our community campaigning instincts, Lib Dem activists from all corners of the UK have been reaching out to the most vulnerable to see if they can help. Nationally we have already contacted 18,000 people, but there are thousands more we have yet to speak to. So we need your help!
