According to a survey conducted in Roffey, North Horsham, 96% of respondents think the Local Plan should be delayed. The government timetable says that Councillors have to approve up to 27,000 new houses by November of this year.
Yet the public consultation process has been disrupted by the lockdown. More importantly, whatever predictions were made about housing need are now in tatters. The economy of Crawley is one of the worst affected in the whole country. How on earth can this have no impact on our needs?
It seems that COVID-19 has changed our views in many ways. Residents also said they’d like to see better pay for the NHS, more provision for walkers and cyclists, and free local parking to encourage people to shop closer to home.
