Drill Hall threat hasn’t gone away

LibDem councillors and Horsham Neighbourhood Councils are pushing HDC for fairness in the next stage of the Drill Hall review.

Following on fantastic public pressure and a heavily supported petition, HDC have backed away from insisting on immediate closure. Instead they are appointing an outside consultant to consider community centre provision for both Horsham Town and the district as a whole.

A draft of the brief for this review has been circulated, but regrettably it is highly unsatisfactory. It clearly makes an assumption that the Drill Hall is to close, and that’s not what was promised to the public. LibDem councillors and the three Horsham Neighbourhood Councils are pushing to rewrite the brief so it fulfils the promise made to the public.
