Following a fire at the Crawley Waste Recycling Centre a couple of weeks ago, West Sussex County Council has announced that the Horsham Waste Recycling Centre will open daily until further notice. This may make Tuesdays and Wednesdays marginally quieter than other days, as not everyone will be aware of the change.
There is no indication how long this may continue, so please check the WSCC web page for up to date information before visiting: http://www.recycleforwestsussex.org/recycling-sites/horsham/
The site is now open for all items, but is not currently able to accept trailers due to Covid-19 restrictions. Trailers are accepted at Billingshurst and Worthing on open weekday afternoons only from 1.00 – 6.00 pm. (Billingshurst is closed on Thursdays and Fridays.)
Please remember that you will need to show proof of residency in West Sussex in order to access the recycling centre. The preferred ID is a driving licence (either photocard or paper). Other forms of ID accepted are Council Tax bill for current year, a utility bill (gas, electricity or water) for the current year, a current TV licence, a letter from HMRC or the Home Office (less than a year old), a current Bus Pass or Disabled Parking Permit.
