Highwood & Blackbridge Ward
Aubrey Claridge & Ruth Fletcher
Aubrey Claridge
Aubrey has been a Horsham resident for many years, with a career spanning graphic design, teaching technology, and landscape design. He has served as a parish councillor for several years, developing a strong understanding of community issues. He has also backed planning applications delivering housing, mixed-use development, and local jobs. Aubrey is passionate about the restorative power of nature and is committed to preserving the local environment.
Ruth Fletcher
Ruth lives in Horsham and her children went to Arunside and Tanbridge House schools. As a local councillor, she has helped deliver local improvements including new lighting for the Tanbridge Park Riverside Walk, resolving Blackbridge Lane flooding, a new Speed Indicator Device, setting up the new Denne Cemetery history and nature walk, better pedestrian and cycle access for the new Aldi, refurbishment of the Queen St shop forecourts, and improvements to the Needles playing field and car park. Many challenges remain, including to get the sports pitch and playground at Highwood transferred from the developer so residents can use them, working with WSCC to improve road safety outside Arunside and St Johns, and major investment to improve the Bishopric.
