30 MPH for Harwood Road

Residents have been in touch with concerns about crossing Harwood Road, between the Lidl Roundabout (Kings Road/North Street) and the Comptons Lane Roundabout.

While there is a footbridge near Stirling Way, many parents, school children and others, still choose to cross at the pedestrian crossing and light, while traffic speeds by at 40 MPH.

It has also been reported as difficult to cross Harwood Road to reach the bus stops nearer to Bunting Close and Plovers Road.

A proposal is being put forward to West Sussex County Council to reduce the speed along this stretch of Harwood Road between the Lidl and Comptons Lane Roundabouts.

At the moment, Harwood Road is the only road within the urban area of Horsham (inside the A264 bypass) that is 40 MPH.
