Hard-working Lib Dem Councillor Kasia Greenwood Steps Down
After careful consideration Horsham District Liberal Democrat Councillor Kasia Greenwood of Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham Ward has resigned.
Former Councillor Greenwood has said,
"It was the honour of my life to have been elected by my local community and to have been able to represent residents over the last three years. It is with deep sadness that I step down due to a change in personal circumstances, but I want to thank the Parish Councils of Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham, for their hard work and consistently warm engagement during my term. I would also like to thank residents for putting their faith in me and I hope that I have been able to contribute in some way to an area I love wholeheartedly."
Martin Boffey, HDC Lib Dem Group Leader, commented,
"Kasia has been a true community champion, actively engaging with residents and Parish Councils. She will remain active within the Lib Dem family and continue to support the community where possible. Her commitment to the area has been shown by stepping down when residents were going to the polls for County Elections, minimising cost and inconvenience, and ensuring that residents are actively represented as we go through Local Government Reorganisation."
Malcolm Brierley, Chair of Horsham Lib Dems added,
"Kasia has had such a positive impact for residents. Liberal Democrat, Ed Skeats, a longtime resident of Slinfold and Parish Councillor, known to Kasia, will be standing as the Lib Dem candidate at the By-Election."
Kasia was elected in May 2023, on 44.2% of the vote, with residents Voting for Better and overturning two decades of Conservatives, on a continuing tide of positive change toward responsible, compassionate, and community driven representation.
