The Liberal Democrats have selected John Milne for Horsham as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced a General Election.

Liberal Democrat candidate John Milne will be campaigning for action to tackle the cost of living crisis, the NHS crisis and the sewage scandal.

For the first time in Horsham’s history there’s a real challenge to the Conservatives. The Lib Dems won control of the District Council last year and the biggest opinion polls, which have  enough detail to be able give an individual constituency prediction, show John Milne winning here.

Nationally the party is in the up after four stunning parliamentary by-election victories across the country, overturning formerly rock solid safe Tory seats.

Responding to Rishi Sunak calling a General Election, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Horsham, John Milne said:

“For years our area has been taken for granted by an out-of-touch Conservative Government that has lurched from crisis to crisis - now it’s time for a change.

“Local health services have been brought to their knees, people’s mortgages and rent have skyrocketed and water companies have been allowed to pump their filthy sewage into our rivers and beaches. Meanwhile we have a Conservative government more interested in fighting between themselves than standing up for the country.

“Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for a fair deal. It’s a vote for a party that will stand up for our community and our health services.”
