Rail chiefs have announced plans to close almost all of the 1,007 remaining rail ticket offices around England within the next three years.

Forced by the Conservative Government, the mass closure is supposed to “modernise” the railway. But we know better.

Train companies have launched a rushed 3-week consultation [now extended to 01 September] on the proposed closures which include our local ticket offices in Billingshurst, Horsham and Pulborough.

This is unacceptable. These ticket offices are a lifeline for so many passengers, particularly those who are elderly or disabled and those who are visitors.

Following the consultation, it is the Secretary of State for Transport, Mark Harper MP, who will have the final say.

John Milne and the Horsham Lib Dems are calling on these plans to be stopped and for our ticket offices to be saved.
